As reflected in our mission statement, Blacklight realizes the political and social impacts that the Arts have had on the international Black community. We value the Arts for their aesthetic purposes, but we also view them as necessary in sustaining, nurturing, and building the human spirit. As such, we hope to create a positive and conscious voice for the Black community which only serves to encourage and expand young minds.
Our efforts to hone artistic dialogue among various communities would not be possible without the support and participation of our audiences. We hope that you too view the Arts as powerful forms of consciousness and empowerment.
If your mission transverses with ours in any respect, and you would like to support the Blacklight publication, our “Manifest the Vision” high school arts competition, or our Black History Month event, please feel free to aid in any way you deem appropriate. Any support from submissions and publicity, to monetary donations is highly appreciated as we recognize that none of our efforts are possible without the participation of our audiences.
